Steward Hires $2.5 Million RBC Team in Colorado
Steward Partners, an independent practice associated with Raymond James Financial, has hired an RBC Wealth Management-U.S. team based in Fort Collins, Colorado, with around $2.5 million in annual production.
The group, who moved along with client associate Mariah Pelletier, had been evaluating a move for about a year and were enticed by the opportunity to own a portion of equity in Steward, they said.
“We had been watching the successful growth of Steward Partners for a year, and we wanted to be a part of it,” said Mabry.
The brokers, who call their new practice Harmony Private Wealth, declined to comment on their own recruiting offers, but Steward has pitched top advisors on being able to receive 100% of their trailing-12 production in an upfront forgivable loan as well as 100% of that value in equity.
Their office is the 25th for Steward, which was founded in 2013 and has around 140 advisors, and its first in Colorado. The team reports to divisional president Chris Barton, a former Morgan Stanley manager who joined Steward in 2018 in Dallas.
Becker started his career at RBC in 2008, according to BrokerCheck. Mabry started at American Express Financial Advisors in 1987. She also worked at Investment Centers of America between 1997 and 1998 but was not registered between 1998 and 2010 when she joined RBC, according to BrokerCheck.
Stradt began his career at First Foster Securities in 1984 and also worked at A.G. Edwards for 11 years before joining Dain Rauscher Inc., according to BrokerCheck.
A spokeswoman for RBC did not return a request for comment. RBC, which has around 2,000 advisors, has itself been an aggressive recruiter of veteran brokers in recent years with a focus on wirehouse advisors.
It last month hired a million-dollar Merrill producer Christopher J. Collins, in the Chicago suburbs.
